Why is the voluntary sector different from any other sector? In many ways it is the same and thank goodness public, private and voluntary sectors do learn from each other today. However, the Morton Partnership brings together unique experience in providing people solutions to the voluntary sector incorporating approaches that work. One area peculiar to the voluntary sector is the development of volunteers. There was a time when volunteers turned up for odd hours to suit themselves, untrained and undeveloped as a bit of altruism or largesse; now the Third Sector cannot survive or grow without volunteer development on a strategically planned or systematic basis.
